By Chris Ariens

“Today” show special correspondent and former first daughter Jenna Bush Hager is profiled in the New York Times this weekend. Christine Haughney writes Bush Hager “has emerged as one of the few bright spots in an otherwise difficult year for ‘Today.'” Bush Hager, who is 9 months pregnant, (Update: Bush Hager gave birth to a baby girl, Margaret Laura “Mila” Hager, Saturday night in New York City) is also an editor at large for Southern Living Magazine, making the former school teacher a bona fide member of the media. “I like exactly what I’m doing now. I like telling people’s stories,” says Bush Hager. Haughney also talks with Henry Schafer of Marketing Evaluations, the company that comes up with Q scores. He says Bush Hager could attract younger viewers who have moved to “Good Morning Morning.”

“You’re bringing in somebody with high recognition who hopefully is going to appeal to younger viewers,” Mr. Schafer said. “You need to create both a personality connection and a content connection to be successful. That’s what ‘Good Morning America’ has been successful at.”
