From Bob Murphy:

Please join me in congratulating Jeff Winn on being named Executive Director, ABC News.

As Executive Director, Jeff will oversee the news division’s DGA staff. In addition, he will work with all of the production units in New York and Washington as we search for better and more efficient ways to produce the highest quality programming.  He will also continue to spearhead the technical part of the division’s transformation to a fully digital work environment.

Jeff will continue to direct “Nightline” and special events. He will add directing “20/20” and the coverage of the midterm elections to his portfolio of responsibilities.

Jeff joined ABC News in 2005 to direct the revamped “Nightline”. Prior to this most recent promotion, Winn held the position of Senior Director.

He began his directing career at ESPN and went on to ABC Sports, directing various studio and event productions such as the pre and post game shows of the 2000 Super Bowl and the Monday Night Football telethon for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Jeff is an eight time Emmy winner, including four for his work on HBO’s “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel”.
