Jake Tapper Takes Over State of the Union June 14

Appearing Monday night on TBS with Conan O’Brien, CNN’s Jake Tapper announced he will begin hosting the network’s Sunday morning show State of the Union on June 14.

In April, CNN announced Tapper would take over for departing SOTU host Candy Crowley. At the time, CNN president Jeff Zucker called Tapper “a relentless reporter, a gifted storyteller, and a terrific interviewer who doesn’t stop until he gets answers.”

In his appearance on TBS’s Conan, Tapper told an anecdote about bumping into Hillary Clinton at the White House and getting an industrial-strength put down:
