Is Rachel Maddow Still A Radio Host?

By SteveK

Last month we reported MSNBC host Rachel Maddow had “reached a new agreement with Air America” in which she gave up her three-hour 6pmET show and moved to one hour in the mornings.

But as the New York Daily News’ David Hinckley reports, the morning program is “largely built on her MSNBC show of the previous evening.”

More specifically, the Radio Equalizer blog writes, “So far, there’s no evidence of unique or original content in the new ‘show.'”

“I just couldn’t keep doing both,” Maddow tells Hinckley. “It was a quality control issue — the quality of the program and my own quality of life. I need time to, say, eat and sleep, which I understand most people do every day. I wasn’t. I needed not to be grabbing food off a cart at 2 in the morning.”

Air America has previously simulcasted another of MSNBC’s show’s, “Race for the White House.”
