Is Phil Griffin Coming Back To Secaucus?

By Brian

“Soon, I will have an announcement for all of you about MSNBC’s new leadership,” Steve Capus said this afternoon.

TVNewser is hearing that Phil Griffin could be coming back to Secaucus. (That’s what Broadcasting & Cable is hearing, too.) Griffin was MSNBC’s primetime VP until April 2005, when he was named senior vice president of NBC News and the executive-in-charge of ‘Today.’

Griffin’s office is just down the hall from Steve Capus. I’m sure the NBC News president has noticed The Today Show’s success in the last 13 months.

> “Phil has been at the core of all that is good and right about MSNBC from the first day the doors opened,” Kaplan once said…

> Griffin on Kaplan: “Rick came in and got the stench out…”

> Also: Is Henry Schleiff another contender for the job?…
