Investigation Discovery, which currently televises “On the Case with Paula Zahn,” along with repurposed content from TV newsmagazines “48 Hours,” “60 Minutes” and “Dateline,” has announced its Fall programming lineup.
Not surprisingly there is a plethora of long-form investigative journalism on tap.
Two “ID Investigates” specials are on the schedule, including an hour-long investigation into Osama Bin Laden, and a look at what caused the 2008 financial meltdown.
Other specials include “American Occult,” which will explore strange subcultures in the U.S., and “Face to Face with Candice DeLong,” in which the former FBI profiler interviews female murderers.
And yes, “On The Case with Paula Zahn” will be returning for season three in November.
Investigation Discovery is led by president and GM Henry Schleiff, who was instrumental in growing CourtTV into a widely distributed cable network.

Roger Weisberg and Vanessa Rothâ€™s riveting film, No Tomorrow, makes its world television debut on ID under the title FINAL JUDGMENT. Exploring the role of media in the criminal justice system, this documentary provides commentary on the use of the death penalty. In 2005, Weisberg and Roth created Aging Out, which explored what happens to teenagers after leaving the foster care system. Tragically, it also became a chronicle of the last year of the life of one of its central characters, Risa Bejarano, who was murdered shortly after the film was released. This follow-up film looks at how the original documentary unexpectedly became the centerpiece of a dramatic trial in Judge Lance Ito’s courtroom that would determine whether the alleged killer would live or die.
