NBC News will be providing extensive coverage of President Obama’s inauguration, both during the official swearing-in on Sunday, and at the ceremonial event on Monday.
On Sunday Lester Holt will lead the network’s coverage, first on “Today,” and then again during a special report for the swearing-in around noon. He will also anchor “NBC Nightly News” that evening. “Meet the Press” will also dedicate its program to a roundtable discussion on President Obama’s second term.
On Monday Brian Williams will lead the network’s coverage, anchoring a special report starting at 10 AM, as well as “Nightly News” that evening. “Today” will also originate live from Washington Monday morning.

NBC NEWS SPECIAL COVERAGE OF THE PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION
JANUARY 16, 2013 — NBC News, America’s leading news organization, will provide in-depth coverage of the second Inauguration of President Barack Obama across all broadcast and digital platforms as the network’s top anchors and correspondents report from throughout the nation’s capital.
Weekend broadcasts of “NBC Nightly News” and “TODAY” will cover the events leading up to Monday’s formal ceremony, “Meet the Press” will dedicate a roundtable discussion to analysis of the president’s second term, and a special report on Sunday will bring the constitutional swearing-in at the White House into viewers’ homes.
On Monday, January 21st, NBC’s network coverage will begin with “TODAY” at 7am ET and continue with a special report covering the ceremony and parade, followed by a full hour of “NBC Nightly News” at 6:30pm ET. The NBC Owned Stations and NBC Newschannel will also provide extensive coverage during local newscasts. Key events will be live streamed on NBCNews.com and on the NBC Owned Stations’ web sites, which will provide additional coverage tailored to their local audiences.

Lester Holt will anchor a mid-day special report along with David Gregory as President Obama takes the oath of office in a brief ceremony at the White House. This oath-taking fulfills the constitutional requirement that the President take the oath of office prior to the start of his second term at noon on Sunday, January 20th. Because the constitutionally mandated date falls on a Sunday, the public Inauguration ceremony will take place on Monday, January 21st.MONDAY, JANUARY 21st
