In Shift, Fusion Ends ‘Come Here And Say That’, Cuts Jobs

Fusion will end production of its late night show, Come Here and Say That, hosted by Alicia Menendez as the network shifts its programming strategy.

Fusion CEO Isaac Lee told staff Thursday the network would focus on three areas: the 2016 election, investigative specials and series, and topical comedy.

“Ultimately these changes mean we’ll be saying goodbye to some of our colleagues — we will be providing them with support to help make these transitions as easy as possible,” Lee said in a memo to Fusion staff. “While change is never easy, I have always said it will be a constant for us as a start-up.”

Come Here and Say That debuted in April as a counterpoint to male-dominated late night. Menendez will now focus on the 2016 campaign.

Fusion’s Soccer Gods will become a “digital first” show “aimed squarely at the engaged online soccer community that we believe will only continue to grow.”
