Chris Matthews, host of MSNBC’s Hardball, was featured in last Sunday’s Philadelphia Inquirer. He discussed his birthday, how he got interested in politics and the time Roger Ailes gave him a big break.

Roger and I got on wonderfully. He hired me even though Will Hearst was my publisher [at the Examiner and Chronicle]. It was 20 years ago and we covered the O.J. trial every night for two hours. It had the celebrity factor and the sex factor. That was the best television ever.

FOX Business Network’s Gerri Willis was featured in The Journal News on money-saving tips for 2015.

Plan your spending. Don’t overspend in any one category. You should spend no more than 35 percent of your income for housing, 15 percent on debt, 15 percent on transportation, 10 percent on savings, and 25 percent on other expenses such as vacations, entertainment and eating out.

Fox News Channel host Anna Kooiman spoke to the Charlotte Observer about co-hosting NYE coverage, what she misses about the south and what she learned on local TV in Charlotte, where she hosted “News Rising” before her days at FNC.

That was a unique experience I got on ‘Rising’ that is missing in a lot of these chat shows. You’re not reading a teleprompter. You have to be comfortable in your own skin. Ad-libbing is something many anchors would struggle with.
