HuffPost and Politico Set up Oases in the Midst of Convention Chaos

By Chris Ariens

As we told you last week, CNN is bringing back the Grill, an off-site spot for conventioneers and the media covering the RNC and DNC. Now Politico and The Huffington Post are also getting in on the action.

Politico says their POLITICO Hub will be the “go-to spot” for guests to relax or work. The Hubs come with food, cocktails and Wifi. The Hubs will begin each day with a morning POLITICO Live show and Playbook Breakfast and stay open for a series of events until the after-the-convention shenanigans.

In Tampa, the Hub will be located inside the Rivergate Tower. In Charlotte, it will be at Packard Place.

Meanwhile, The Huffington Post will have its own Oasis at each convention for delegates, journalists and bloggers to relax and munch on healthy snacks and refreshments. During the evening, visitors can watch the conventions while getting a foot massage! Also, yoga classes, mini-facials and a motivational session with Arianna (kidding on that last one, unless you ask her nicely). In Tampa the HuffPost Oasis will be at Aja Channelside and in Charlotte at the Flex and Fit Gym.
