Howard Stern: Don’t F**k with Fox

By Chris Ariens

At the top of his Sirius radio show yesterday, Howard Stern was reacting to this story in the LA Times which ran Monday.

The story is about how Stern has lost much of his audience and some of his influence since moving to satellite radio. He used that as a jumping off point to talk about the current FBN-CNBC ad battle over Jim Cramer.

Here’s part of it. The whole exchange is after the jump:

STERN: But there in the middle–man, you fuck with Fox, boy, they just will fucking take you to–they’ll hit you with newspaper. They’ll hit you with cable. They’ll hit you with network.

LANGE: They can come at you from all areas.

HOWARD STERN: Right now, you know, Jim Cramer works at CNBC. And they are a business network.

ARTIE LANGE: Right.

STERN: Fox Business Network just launched, and they’re trying to get ratings. They’re in the middle of smearing Jim Cramer, like, just fucking brutally smearing the fucking guy, making him almost seem like he’s a complete asshole…

LANGE: I saw a couple of recent…

STERN: …and —

LANGE: …headlines that were negative towards him, yeah.

STERN: Negative, and–and they’re running ads like, ‘Jim Cramer said’–you know, any financial analyst is not gonna get everything right a hundred percent of the time.

QUIVERS: Right, so they’re going through every pick and saying he was wrong here. He was wrong here.

STERN: Yeah.

QUIVERS: He was wrong here.

STERN: And Cramer–you know, Cramer is a guy who’s made a lot of money. If anybody knows about the markets and all that stuff, it’s him.

LANGE: He knows as much as anybody else with a show on FOX Business.

STERN: Right.

LAGNE: That’s for sure.

QUIVERS: Yeah, and by the same token, if you went through somebody else’s logs you’d find the same thing.

STERN: But there in the middle–man, you fuck with Fox, boy, they just will fucking take you to–they’ll hit you with newspaper. They’ll hit you with cable. They’ll hit you with network.

LANGE: They can come at you from all areas.
