Leo the Pig Gets His 15 Seconds of Fame, Thanks to Anderson Cooper and Bloomberg TV

By Merrill Knox

Here’s something to file in the odd news category. On his daytime talk show this week, Anderson Cooper talked (with Tiffani Theissen of “Saved by the Bell” fame, no less) about how he was considering adopting a pig. Specifically, a miniature potbelly pig named Leo that Cooper met one night this week.

Cooper said he’s always toyed around with having a pig, but ultimately decided against adopting him:

Here’s the weird part: Leo belonged to a producer at Bloomberg TV, who was forced to put him up for adoption because her apartment building does not allow pigs. Leo — who likes grapes and has his own Twitter handle — made a cameo on Bloomberg’s “Street Smart” last week (watch it after the jump).

Cooper didn’t end up adopting Leo, but all’s well that end’s well: the pig was adopted by Cooper’s cameraman and how lives on a farm in upstate New York.
