HLN Wins Sunday With Emmy Telecast; Down from 2012

HLN’s telecast of the 40th Daytime Emmy Awards Sunday night pushed the network to #1 in primetime in total viewers and second, to MSNBC, in the A25-54 demo among the cable news networks.

The broadcast was down over last year’s event, which also aired on HLN on a Saturday night. The 8pm hour drew 794,000 total viewers and 194,000 demo viewers: down -8% and -35%, respectively. The second hour grew from the first. 972,000 total viewers watched, up +2% vs. last year while demo viewership for the second hour averaged 208,000, down -41% from last year.

The telecast aired live from 8pmET – 10:35pm at which point a re-air began. The 10pm hour drew 805,000 total viewers and 223,000 in the demo.
