Harold Dow’s Final ’48 Hours’ Story is Night’s #1 Show

By Chris Ariens

“48 Hours” has consistently been one of the — if not the — top rated shows on Saturday nights. And last Saturday, for its season premiere, the win was bittersweet at CBS News.

The show was television’s #1 program Saturday night in both households (4.3 rating /08 share) and Total Viewers (6.28M).

The season premiere, entitled “The Killing Game,” was also the final report by the late correspondent Harold Dow who died suddenly last month. Dow’s nephew, Jay Dow, a reporter for WCBS in New York and a contributor for CBS News, voiced the broadcast as a tribute to the longtime CBS correspondent.
