It’s Bob Schieffer’s 74th birthday today. He’ll be at work as usual, but will take a break for a celebratory lunch with wife Pat and CBS colleagues – at a mystery locale.
“Some of my favorite people are taking me to lunch at one of my favorite places in Washington,” Schieffer tells TVNewser, “but they won’t tell me exactly which one!”
Schieffer’s schedule for the next several days also includes a trip to his home state of Texas. He’ll be honored in Austin on Tuesday as a 2011 Texas Medal of Arts Award winner by the Texas Cultural Trust, which promotes the arts and arts education.
