Guide to Cable News New Year’s Eve Plans

Anderson Cooper Times SquareWe’ve got you covered if you’ll be home watching cable news when the clock strikes midnight.

Fox News Channel will have “Countdown to 2015” with Anna Kooiman and Jesse Watters at 9 pm ET followed by “All-American New Year” hosted by the cast of “The Five” at 10 pm ET, with both event live from Times Square.

Kimberly Guifoyle spoke with TVNewser about what viewers should expect from the FNC special program.

Over on CNN, Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin will host the network’s coverage for the eighth consecutive year. “New Year’s Eve Live” starts at 9 pm ET. ”I’ve given up asking Kathy to watch what she says. There’s no point. I’m just hoping for the best,” Cooper said when asked about the coverage.

CNN will also have correspondents across the globe, Brooke Baldwin and Don Lemon will be live from New Orleans, Pamela Brown from Memphis, Gary Tuchman will cover the Crab Drop in Easton, MD and Richard Quest will reporting from a cruise ship off Bahamas.

NYEMSNBC doesn’t have a special program for NYE, but “New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly” on NBC will feature performances by Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and Pharrell.

If you’re not into NYE coverage, head over to HLN for “50 States/50 Stories,” for a look at what viewers shared on social media in 2014 at 9 pm ET. And if you want to start 2015 with an episode of “Forensic File,” don’t worry… it comes on HLN at midnight ET.
