Greta Van Sustern Celebrates 10 Years at Fox News

By Chris Ariens

Today is Greta Van Susteren’s 10th anniversary at Fox News Channel.

Van Susteren also now holds the distinction of being the longest-serving current cable news anchor, a title held by Larry King until he left his “Larry King Live” in late 2010. (King also holds the Guinness World Record for having the longest running show with the same host in the same time slot.)

Van Susteren co-anchored CNN’s legal show “Burden of Proof” from 1994 until she got the call from Roger Ailes and moved to Fox News in 2002. “On the Record” debuted Feb. 4. 2002, just days after Fox News notched its first monthly win as the #1 cable news channel, which the network has held onto since.

Like all programs, cable and broadcast, the ratings ebb and flow. But in January, Van Susteren’s “On the Record” was up +7% in Total Viewers and up +19% in younger viewers compared to Jan. 2011.
