The Yahoo placards were flying outside “Good Morning America” ahead of an announcement of an expanded ABC/Yahoo partnership. Starting Monday, Yahoo editors will begin appearing more frequently on “GMA” to, as ABC calls it, “Yahoo Your Day.” Style editor Joe Zee and Beauty editor Bobbi Brown were on “GMA” this morning for the announcement.

The “Yahoo Your Day” segments are a part of a larger expansion of the partnership which will include streaming of some ABC shows including “Scandal,” “Pretty Little Liars” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” on Yahoo. That starts today. In addition, Flickr images will be integrated into “Good Morning America” weather reports, and Tumblr will be featured in “GMA’s” Social Square.’ Flickr and Tumblr are Yahoo platforms.

The ABC News/Yahoo partnership goes back to October, 2011. At the time “GMA’s” website was added to the Yahoo domain. In 2013, the partnership expanded to other ABC programs including “World News” and “Nightline.” ABC’s news president at the time, Ben Sherwood, was instrumental in bringing the deal together. Sherwood is now head of the Disney/ABC TV group.
