Good Luck Finding Dan Special In NY & LA

Scott Collins calls this “CBS’ Final Dis to The Dan:”

“It was already telling that CBS decided to dump [Friday’s primetime Dan Rather special] on the Friday before Labor Day, just days before Katie Couric assumes Rather’s old job in a burst of hype. But the network isn’t even bothering to air Rather’s show at its scheduled time on WCBS-TV in New York or KCBS-TV in Los Angeles, both owned and operated by CBS. Those outlets will instead run preseason NFL match-ups: the Eagles and the Jets in New York, the Chargers and the 49ers in L.A. In Los Angeles, Dan’s special will migrate to CBS-owned KCAL, where far fewer viewers are likely to see it. The fate of the special in the New York market is unclear; it’s not on published schedules for Friday.”
