Goldberg on O’Donnell: She’s a Liberal

By Chris Ariens

O’Reilly Factor guest and frequent media critic Bernard Goldberg went off on MSNBC’s Norah O’Donnell last night for some comments O’Donnell made on “Morning Joe” regarding Newt Gingrich.

At the Southern Republican Leadership Conference last week, Gingrich jabbed Pres. Obama saying, “shooting three-point shots may be clever, but it doesn’t put anybody to work.”

Some in the media picked up on Gingrich’s comment as being racially charged. Here’s what O’Donnell said on MSNBC Friday:

I mean, this was largely a good speech — Gingrich’s speech — about not being the party of ‘no.’ I’m not sure what he means by this particular sound bite. I think it’s open to criticism because it suggests that the president is an athlete and some people may suggest, you know, because all black people are good athletes. I mean, that’s what it sort of sounds like to me.

Goldberg’s take on last night’s O’Reilly Factor:

Ms. O’Donnell is a liberal and liberals see just about everything through the prism of race. Here comes Newt Gingrich who has got an eye on the White House. Who takes a run of the mill pot shot at the current run of the mill at the White House and all of a sudden, he is a racist. This is not an intelligent observation. Look, I’m willing to accept that she is a nice person. I don’t know what’s in her heart. I will accept the best about what’s in her heart. But what’s in her head is not very much. This is not only not intelligent, this is dumb.

As for reaction from O’Donnell, an MSNBC spokesperson tells TVNewser, “We’re not going to dignify Mr. Goldberg’s ridiculous comments with a response.”
