Gibson Describes Exchange With MSNBC Boss: “He Was Looking For Ratings”

By SteveK

Fox News Radio host John Gibson had some comments about MSNBC’s Inauguration coverage yesterday, taking on his usual targets — Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann.

But later in the discussion, Gibson describes a dinner he had “two, three nights ago” at Rao’s Restaurant (“all these media stars go there”). “Suddenly I hear ‘Gibby!’ I look up and there’s Phil Griffin, the guy who runs MSNBC,” said Gibson.

Gibson, who worked at MSNBC before leaving for FNC in 2000, said Griffin told him, “Going left was the right thing to do.”

“He doesn’t have a political bone in his body,” says Gibson. “He was looking for ratings.”
