Gerry Baker is being replaced as editor in chief of the Wall Street Journal, but will move to another part of the Rupert Murdoch empire, as host of a new WSJ-branded news and interview show on Fox Business Network. Matt Murray, who has been deputy EIC since 2013, will take over as the paper’s top editor on Monday.

“It has been an extraordinary opportunity to have led the world’s greatest and most trusted news organization,” said Baker. “I’m enormously grateful to Rupert, Lachlan and [News Corp CEO] Robert [Thomson] for entrusting me with the Journal’s mission and it has been an unsurpassed privilege to have worked with so many talented and dedicated colleagues,” he said.

Baker, who was a co-moderator of a 2015 GOP presidential primary debate, will also write a regular column for the WSJ’s Saturday edition.
