Geraldo: “My Constitutionally Protected Opinion That Michael Jackson Is Not Guilty”

By Brian

Staunch Michael Jackson defender Geraldo Rivera’s interview with the accused pop star aired on FNC Saturday night (and re-aired on Sunday night). Via Google Video, here are Geraldo’s opening remarks:

“Bcecause of a court-imposed gag order Michael is prohibited from speaking about the case. Because of a recent leak of damning, supposedly secret Grand Jury transcripts, after a hearing Tuesday the judge agreed to allow the defendant to speak in general terms about the allegations against him so unfairly made public by the Grand Jury leak. Michael will be make a statement about the charges currently pending. After investigating the attacks and circumstances in this case, I have made no secret of my feelings, however unpopular. It is my constitutionally protected opinion that Michael Jackson is not guilty. And I’ve said so often and in no uncertain terms. I believe as this case unfolds many of you will agree with me.”

I’m surprised we haven’t heard more outcry in the media about Geraldo’s flagrant bias, and how it contributed to his “exclusive” sit-down with Jackson…
