GBTV is getting into the animation business. The web-TV network founded by former Fox News host Glenn Beck has signed a development deal with Icebox, a production company that has on its staff writers who have worked on shows such as “South Park,” “The Simpsons,” “King of the Hill” and “24.”

The animated program will be family-friendly fare, according to an Icebox executive:

“Icebox is known for edgy, irreverent programming,” said Tal Vigderson, Managing Director of Icebox in a statement. “Many of our writers welcome the opportunity to create shows the whole family can watch.  This venture lets us take a little break from shocking and offending our audience.”
