GBTV EXPANDS ITS PRODUCTION AND OPERATIONS TEAM

Eric Pearce Promoted to VP of Television Operations and Liz Julis Named VP of Special Event Programming

(New York, NY, November 1st 2011) GBTV, Glenn Beck’s live-streaming video network, announced today that it is expanding its production and operations team. Eric Pearce, former Director of Television Operations has been promoted to Vice President of Television Operations and Liz Julis, who produced Restoring Honor, Glenn’s historic event on the mall in Washington D.C., has been named VP of Special Event Programming.

Pearce, previously Director of Television Operations, has helped build GBTV into one of the world’s largest streaming video networks. In his new role, Pearce will continue to oversee GBTV’s operations and will help manage the creation of a production facility in Texas. Before joining Mercury Radio Arts, Pearce spent five and a half years with CNN working in the Program Development Unit, helping to launch multiple primetime shows for HLN, including Glenn’s first TV show back in May 2007.

Chris Balfe, President and COO of Mercury Radio Arts said: “GBTV is television on the internet, not internet television. One way we have accomplished that goal is by hiring top quality network level talent like Eric. He has done a tremendous job building GBTV’s world-class operations and we are glad he is part of our team.”

Julis, who oversaw all of the event production surrounding Glenn’s historic Restoring Honor rally on August 28th, 2010 and Glenn’s three events in Israel this past summer, will produce and organize coverage of live events for GBTV. The productions will not only include events headlined by Glenn but also third party events and special programming that will be announced at a later time. Julis joined Mercury in 2006.

Balfe said: “Glenn sets a very high quality standard for all Mercury projects and Liz has shown the incredible ability to produce historic, large scale events that meet those standards. We have some exciting plans for GBTV produced live-events and look forward to Liz bringing them to our subscribers across the country.”

Glenn’s two-hour show, which debuted on 9/12 is broadcast live weekdays from 5 to 7PM ET from a newly-built set designed by Glenn and his team at the iconic NEP Studios in Midtown Manhattan. It will be moving to Dallas next year.  The show features Glenn’s unique fusion of entertainment and enlightenment and includes contributors like Amy Holmes, Will Cain, S.E. Cupp and Raj Nair. In addition to Glenn’s new show, GBTV includes a wide range of programming including Liberty Tree House, Mercury Theater, The B.S. of A, a six camera simulcast of Glenn’s three hour radio show and “The 4th Hour” starring Pat Gray and Stu Burguiere.
