Gayle King Signs Contract Extension

By Chris Ariens

Another morning show anchor is locked into a longterm deal. Following the news of contract extensions with Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie at the Today show, Page Six reports Gayle King has signed a 3-year deal with CBS News that pays her $5.5 million a year.

CBS This Morning with King, Charles Rose and Norah O’Donnell, is the only morning show to post consistent growth. It had a half million more viewers last week than the comparable week last year. While still in third place, CTM closed the viewership gap with the Today show by 762,000 viewers and narrowed the gap with Good Morning America by 611,000 viewers.

“We have a long-term deal with Gayle,” a CBS spokesperson told the Post. CTM marks 5 years on the air early next month.
