Fun with MSNBC’s Com Vu Cam

By SteveK

Fox News has their ElectionLink trucks, CNN has the Election Express bus, and MSNBC’s David Shuster showed the many uses for their Com Vu Cam in the lead-up to today’s Iowa GOP debate.

Shuster was using Com Vu in the media room about an hour before the debate, and besides showing the 200-plus members of the press, he got in some hidden camera action. He said, “It’s also a little bit deceptive for reporters in the room, for example, because we are not shooting on a big camera, people like former producer Mr. Gibson, Jake Gibson, over there who is munching on a bagel on national TV right now…” (Jake Gibson, BTW is the son of FNC’s John Gibson, who, as far as we know, enjoys his bagels long before Big Story goes on the air.)

Shuster described the technology as a “whole new world,” which could include bringing cameras into places that don’t normally allow it, like campaign fundraisers.
