I admit I’m reading too much into this, but:

Erin Burnett, i.e. Maria 2.0, i.e. Street Sweetie, did live shots for both The Today Show and NBC Nightly News on Tuesday.

Then this morning, Maria Bartiromo i.e. Maria 1.0, appeared live in-person next to Matt Lauer on Today.

(An NBC tipster says Bartiromo “was very unhappy that Erin did” both hits yesterday, but we all know there’s no rivalry.)
