From Sundaes To Twinkies: The Morning Show Confectionery Confrontation Escalates

It was just a couple weeks ago that ABC’s “Good Morning America” launched a sugarbomb at its morning show competition, securing a Ben & Jerry’s sundae based around the program: “Good Morning America’s Sunrise Sundae.”

Now “Today” is looking to battle back in the developing battle of the bulge.

On Monday America’s favorite cream-filled spongecake–the Twinkie–will return to store shelves across the country. One of the first shipments will be to “Today,” courtesy of the “Twinkie Mobile.” NBC’s morning program has asked viewers to share their favorite Twinkie memories, and will be sharing them on-air.

Typically when one thinks of confectionery confrontations, they think of dueling desserts. Now the mornings are clearly fair game. “CBS This Morning,” the ball is now in your court.
