Fox Sports Ohio To Honor Radio Announcer Joe Tait

Fox Sports Ohio will honor Joe Tait, the Hall of Fame radio voice of the Cleveland Cavaliers, with an one-hour special titled Have a Good Night Everybody.

Tait, 73, has been the Cavaliers’ radio announcer since the team’s inception in 1970. The special will premiere following Tait’s final game as a radio announcer on April 13.

Approximately 25-30 story tellers will be featured in the program, including former Cavs coaches Bill Fitch and Mike Fratello, as well as former Cavaliers Mark Price, Jim Chones and Wayne Embry.

Health problems are forcing Tait to retire after 39 seasons. He’s been hospitalized several times over the last few months for a list of ailments including a blood clot, pneumonia and cardiac surgery.
