Fox News Promotes Six to New Programming Roles

Fox News president of programming Suzanne Scott elevated six longtime staffers to new roles.

Meade Cooper will now serve as SVP of Programming and oversee Monday through Sunday prime time and opinion shows. Cooper had been vp of prime time. She had been executive Producer of On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.

John Finley becomes SVP of Development and Production. Finley was instrumental in the planning of all the network’s presidential debates during the 2016 election cycle and has developed shows including Hannity and The Five. He replaces Jeff Hark, who retired after 21 years at the network overseeing the production unit.

Amy Sohnen has been promoted to VP of Talent Development in charge of managing and developing on-air talent and contributors. Sohnen had been Executive Producer of The O’Reilly Factor.

Ron Mitchell, former senior producer of The O’Reilly Factor, has been named VP of Story Development for prime time. He joined the network in 1997 as a producer on Hannity & Colmes, and was with The O’Reilly Factor for the past 14 years.

Lauren Petterson will take on the role of SVP, Morning Programming and Talent Development. Petterson managed Fox & Friends First and FOX & Friends. She’s been with FNC since 2008, after stints at NBC Nes, and CBS News.

Jill Van Why has been named VP of Programming Operations, overseeing all aspects of production and programming operations. Previously, she was Senior Director of Programming and Production at FNC. She’s been with FNC since 2000.

“We’re excited to announce a new programming leadership team that will provide a more efficient and cohesive partnership across all aspects of programming and production,” said Scott. “These executives are responsible for many of the network’s innovations and achievements over the years, and under their guidance, we’re ensuring FNC’s continued success as the leader in cable news.”
