Fox News Parts Ways with Dr. Ben Carson

By Chris Ariens

CarsonHannityAs Dr. Ben Carson considers a run for the White House, Fox News has had an amicable partings of the ways with the conservative commentator, reports WaPo’s Eric Wemple.

Dr. Carson, most recently on “Hannity” Monday night, has been an FNC contributor since Oct. 2013. This afternoon he began promoting a new biographical TV special called “A Breath of Fresh Air.” Produced by Armstrong Williams, the infomercial takes a look at Dr. Carson’s “rise from born to a single mother with a poor childhood in Detroit to director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins.”

This is not the first time Fox News has cut ties with paid contributors who sought higher office: in 2011 the network suspended Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich who later ran for the 2012 GOP nomination.
