Fox News is promoting two longtime staffers from its domestic and foreign news bureaus, respectively.
The network announced Nancy Harmeyer has been named vp of domestic bureaus, while Greg Headen becomes director of FNC’s foreign desk.
In addition to continuing her present role as FNC’s Los Angeles bureau chief, Harmeyer will also now oversee all of the network’s U.S. bureaus including Dallas, Atlanta, Miami, Chicago, Denver, Seattle and San Francisco.
Prior to running the LA bureau, Harmeyer served as FNC’s Miami bureau chief, as well as a White House producer and previously an AP throughout her tenure with the network.
“Nancy’s leadership and news gathering expertise has made her an integral part of the news gathering team and we’re excited for her to take on this new role, streamlining communication and resources across our domestic bureaus,” Fox News president of news Jay Wallace noted in a statement.
As director of the foreign desk, Greg Headen and will now oversee Fox News’s London and Jerusalem desks. Headen joined the network in 1996 and has previously served as the Miami bureau chief and most recently as foreign desk manager.
“As foreign desk manager, Greg has become an expert in our field operations across all our international bureaus, making him the ideal candidate to oversee global reach,” noted Wallace. “These moves will bring added consistency to the editorial, administration and production across all of our bureaus.”
Harmeyer and Headen will report to Mike Shapiro, vp of news coverage, who will continue overseeing the New York and Boston bureaus as well as the Fox News National Desk. Wallace oversees the Fox News’s largest bureau in Washington.
