Someone seems to think CNN’s Wolf Blitzer is “the worst.” Was it CNN’s media reporter Brian Stelter? It seemed that way when Stelter tweeted “Ugh. wolf is the worst” Friday afternoon.
Stelter quickly explained the sentiment belonged to an un-named person with whom he was chatting privately–and the “wolf is the worst” line was one he had copy/pasted into a new direct message that inadvertently was tweeted out publicly to Stelter’s 289,000 followers.
Fox News host Greta Van Susteren was unimpressed with the tweet–and the explanation–writing on her GretaWire blog “Brian Stelter has been in the business about 5 days and not traveled the world (just read the internet) and he dares to insult Wolf Blitzer, who has been in the business years and has traveled the world and interviewed world leaders?”
Stelter responded via Twitter, noting that Van Susteren had written in her blog post that she assumed the report of Stelter’s deleted tweet was accurate:
@greta your 6 words "I am assuming it is accurate" illustrate all that is wrong with modern media. I may be young, but I know not to assume.
