Fox News Doesn’t Ask Donald Trump About Fox News. CNN Does, Twice

By Chris Ariens

Over the last 48 hours, all the TV news networks, but one, have asked Donald Trump about his relentless targeting of Fox News following last Thursday’s debate.

Trump returned to Fox News this morning. But Fox was not a topic. The 8-minute interview conducted by Steve Doocy on Fox & Friends focused on Trump’s high polling numbers, Scott Walker, the tax code, Hillary Clinton and ISIS.

About 15 minutes later, Trump turned up on CNN where Chris Cuomo talked with the GOP frontrunner for a half hour, on many of the same issues. But on CNN, Kelly and Fox News came up twice, once toward the beginning of the interview and again toward the end. Cuomo asked Trump if he owes all women an apology “or at least some assurance that the comments” are not who Trump is. Trump pushed that idea aside saying Jeb Bush is the one who needs to apologize to women.

Later, Cuomo discussed Trump’s conversation with Fox News chairman Roger Ailes Monday, and asked: “Did you make a deal with Fox?”

Trump: Roger has been a friend of mine for a long time. He’s somebody I have great respect for. I was very angry with the way I was treated and perhaps justifiably. He called me yesterday. As far as I’m concerned, I’m fine with it.

Cuomo: So, you’re over it. Was it part of the deal that Megyn Kelly wouldn’t go on her show and attack you and keep it going?

Trump: No. I don’t care about that… we didn’t even discuss that. It’s not about Megyn Kelly.

So that’s that. For now.

Meanwhile, former Trump adviser Roger Stone, who says he quit the campaign Saturday (Trump says he was fired) was on the Today show telling Matt Lauer, “I spent 35 years in the corroded rectum of the two-party system.”
