Fox News Adds Another Republican Primary Debate to Slate in August

Fox News Channel is adding yet another Republican Presidential primary debate to its schedule, this one slated to be held in Iowa on August 11. The debate will be held at Iowa State University (sorry Hawkeyes fans), and is in conjunction with the state Republican party and the Washington Examiner.

FNC already has a number of debates on the schedule including another one to be held in Iowa next year before the Iowa Caucus.

“FOX News is proud to partner with The Washington Examiner and the Iowa GOP to kick off the 2012 election season and provide viewers the most thorough coverage of this important debate,” said Fox News Senior Vice President of News Michael Clemente in a statement.

FOX NEWS AND WASHINGTON EXAMINER TO PRESENT IOWA REPUBLICAN PARTY

PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE ON AUGUST 11

FOX News and The Washington Examiner, in conjunction with the Iowa Republican Party, will present the first Iowa presidential debate on August 11th. The debate will take place at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa and will set the stage for the Iowa Republican Party Ames Straw Poll on August 13th.

In making the announcement, FOX News Senior Vice President of News Michael Clemente said, “FOX News is proud to partner with The Washington Examiner and the Iowa GOP to kick off the 2012 election season and provide viewers the most thorough coverage of this important debate.”

Stephen G. Smith, editor of The Washington Examiner, added, “This is shaping up as a pivotal race, and we’re proud to be part of the conversation as the Republicans choose their candidate. We’re especially pleased to collaborate with FOX, which showed at the May debate in South Carolina that it is second to none in showcasing the candidates and drawing them out on key issues.”

A second FOX News and Iowa Republican Party debate is scheduled to take place prior to the Iowa Caucus at Sioux City’s historic Orpheum Theater. Both debates will be presented live and exclusively on FOX News Channel (FNC), FOX News Radio, FOX News Mobile and FOXNews.com.
