Former CBS and ABC staffer John Armstrong Passes Away

Former CBS News and ABC News writer and producer John Armstrong has died. Armstrong worked as a writer for CBS Newsradio in New York and later as a writer and associate producer for the “CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite. In 1980 he joined ABC News as a producer for “World News Tonight,” and from 1982-1991 was Deputy Bureau Chief at ABC’s Washington Bureau. The Peabody and Emmy-award winning Armstrong passed away last Friday at Montgomery Hospice/Casey House in Bethesda, MD after a series of strokes. He was 72.
