“World News” anchor Diane Sawyer apparently didn’t like Brian Williams’ suggestion that she had anything to do with a video showing a baby crying uncontrollably at the mere sight of him, so “World News” reached out to the baby’s family to do a little test.
“Hey Brian Williams and Al Roker — Don’t blame Diane anymore. Baby Jude has options, you know. We talked to his parents. This seems to be working…” read a Facebook prelude to a new video showing the baby watching Sawyer vs. Williams.
To the untrained eye, it isn’t clear whether the baby feels a soothing effect from Sawyer, who he has no reaction to, or has for some unknown reason a hardwired fear of Williams, who he continues to cry upon seeing his image on TV.
As both Williams and we jokingly pointed out —the baby’s father’s role in his son’s preferred TV news anchor seems suspect, with baby Jude seeming to be goaded on by dad to fear the “Nightly News” anchor.
