FNC’s John Roberts, CNN’s Bill Weir Interview Toronto Mayor Rob Ford

By Chris Ariens

The Toronto Council meets again today to decide whether to strip embattled Mayor Rob Ford of more of his powers. Meanwhile, Ford is not backing down.

Over the weekend, while Bobby Moynihan was doing him, he did interviews with two U.S. networks. FNC’s Canadian-born John Roberts did a satellite interview with Ford Sunday afternoon.

“We talked to to him for about 15 minutes while he was taking a break from filming his new television show for the Sun News Network,” said Roberts.

This morning on CNN’s “New Day” Bill Weir talked about how his Ford interview came together. It started with a conversation Weir had with Ford’s brother, Toronto Councillor Doug Ford, Friday night. “I said I’d love to visit your ward and meet your supporters. He called my bluff, and less than 18 hours later I found myself in a Toronto housing project, listening to a Rob Ford rant.”

“I was tired of all these allegations and bullshit. Excuse my words. Sorry I shouldn’t swear in front of the kids,” Ford says to Weir. WATCH:
