It was an eventful night at 30 Rock, where apparently there are still some kinks in the new “Nightly News” facilities. A fire alarm went off in the studio a few seconds into the live 6:30ET/5:30CT broadcast — and continued throughout the entire show. Between delivering the actual news, anchor Brian Williams spent his time reassuring viewers that it was just a test and that the “Nightly” crew was in no danger. Watch:

An NBC News spokesperson says that Williams anchored a new — fire-alarm free — version of “Nightly” for the mountain and pacific time zones, and other select stations, at 7pmET.

Update: the alarm incident was covered on “Today” and “Morning Joe,” video after the jump.
