When you broadcast the highest rated debate of all time on cable (and two other highly-rated debates), as CNN did last February, the viewership is bound to go down. And for CNN in February ’09, it did. A lot. Among A25-54 demo viewers, CNN was down 44% in prime time (8-11pm, Mon-Sun). The network was also down 14% in the demo for Total Day (Mon-Sun).
Some of the highlights of CNN’s month: American Morning is up 13%; CNN Newsroom with Rick Sanchez (3pmET) is up 29%; and The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer is up an average of 7% for its three hours (4-7pmET).
In prime time, Larry King Live is up 19% in Total Viewers and up 8% in the demo.
