February 2015 Ratings: Fox News is No. 1 Cable Network in Primetime

By Chris Ariens

Fox News was the No. 1 basic cable channel in Primetime (8-11pmET) total viewers in February, outranking USA, AMC and TNT. The channel improved from Feb. 2014 in total day viewing, in both total viewers (+1%) and the demo (+3%), but was down -4% in primetime, among total viewers, which tells us that cable viewing overall in February was lackluster.

The ratings for February 2015 (Nielsen Live + Same Day data):

  • Primetime (Mon-Sun): 1,823,000 total viewers / 345,000 A25-54
  • Total Day Mon-Sun): 1,124,000 total viewers / 227,000 A25-54

Several FNC shows saw multi-year highs in February. “The O’Reilly Factor” had its best demo average since April 2013, and was the No. 1 program at 8pm in all of cable. The show is up +2% in viewers and up +22% in the demo vs. Feb. 2014. “The Kelly File” and “On the Record” had their second highest-rated demos since the primetime revamp in Oct. 2013. The Kelly File is up 22% in the A25-54 demo while “On the Record” is up +14%.
