February 2012 Ratings: 125 Months at #1 for Shepard Smith

Fox News Channel once again topped cable news competitors CNN and MSNBC combined in Total Viewers in both Primetime and Total Day in February. It also had the top 12 programs in Total Viewers and the top 8 in the A25-54 demo.

The ratings for February, 2012:

  • Primetime: 1.914 million total viewers/ 415,000 A25-54
  • Total Day: 1.093 million total viewers/ 270,000 A25-54

“Fox & Friends” is the only cable news morning program to post year-over-year increases (+9%) while beating CNN, MSNBC and HLN combined in Total Viewers. “The Five” had its best month in younger viewers since its launch in July, and “Fox Report with Shepard Smith” marked 125 consecutive months as the #1 show at 7pmET.

Overall, Fox News is down -3% in Total Viewers and down -13% in A25-54 viewers vs. Feb. 2011, where there was extensive coverage of the Arab Spring.
