Here’s a nice story during what has been a chaotic week in television news.
Susan G. Komen – NYC announced today that Fox Business anchor and personal finance reporter Gerri Willis is being honored at the organization’s 2018 Impact Awards this May for her efforts in raising money and awareness to find a cure for cancer.
We’re so excited to announce we will honor @GerriWillisFBN at the 2018 #ImpactAwards!

Last September, we wrote about how Willis led Team Gerri at the Susan G. Komen Greater NYC Race for the Cure. Her team raised more than $21,000 last year, which ranked in the top 10 among all corporate donors.
Willis is thrilled to receive the honor.

This is the second consecutive year a TV newser is being honored by the foundation at their New York City gala. Former GMA host, author, motivational speaker and breast cancer survivor Joan Lunden received the Impact Award in 2017.
Willis was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in April 2016, and took some time off from TV news.
She is presently cancer free.
