FBN Goes Gold, FNC Upped to Bronze on DISH

By SteveK

Fox Business Network has been added to the DISH network. The deal ups FBN’s total distribution to nearly 50 million homes.

FBN will now be available on the DISH Network’s Classic Gold 250 on channel 206.

Fox News Channel has moved, effective today, as well. It can be seen on channel 205, and is now part of the Classic Bronze 100 (for some reason, Bronze is a higher level than Gold). FNC’s distribution is increased to now 11 million DISH Network subscribers.

Both networks will be available in HD.

> An emailer clarifies: “The reason bronze is better for the network than gold.. and bronze is a ‘higher’ number of subscribers is simple. The bronze package is cheaper- less money so more people get that package. The gold package costs a little more each month- so that’s why it may seem funny that it’s better for FNC to be bronze than gold, but people who don’t want to pony up the money for all the gold channels start with the bronze package.”
