Experian Hitwise: The O’Reilly Factor Tops Cable News Show Sites for Week Ending March 19

Fox News Channel’s The O’Reilly Factor was the top-ranked cable-news-show website for the week ending March 19, according to Experian Hitwise, trailed by two offerings from MSNBC: The Rachel Maddow Show, and Morning Joe.

Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart topped the late-night talk-show charts, with second place going to ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, and NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno claiming the No. 3 spot.

The morning news shows finished the week in their usual order: NBC’s Today, ABC’s Good Morning America, and CBS’ The Early Show.

The top three broadcast-network websites were CBS, ABC, and Fox. Fox’s American Idol took the broadcast-show-site crown, followed by ABC’s The Bachelor, and Fox’s Glee. The lone new entry to the top 25 was ABC’s V (to No. 24 from No. 37).

MTV’s Jersey Shore fist-pumped its way to the top of the cable-show chart, followed by Rachel Maddow and Comedy’s South Park. New top-25 shows were Maddow (2 from 13), Travel Channel’s Ghost Adventures (14 from 33), A&E Network’s Dog the Bounty Hunter (19 from 32), and Syfy’s Destination Truth (25 from 194).

When combining broadcast and cable offerings, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants was the top finisher, trailed by American Idol, and Jersey Shore. Joining the top 25 were Maddow (4 from 43), and Cartoon Network’s MAD (25 from 39).
