Evening News #s: ABC, NBC Tie In Demo; Nightly News Wins Most Total Viewers

ABC’s World News Tonight tied the NBC Nightly News in the 25-54 demographic last week. Both broadcasts had a 2.3 rating last week. “This marks the sixth time in the last eight weeks that World News Tonight has tied or beaten Nightly News in the key demo rating,” ABC says. (Update: NBC’s press release notes that NN still had more demo viewers than ABC: 2,854,000 versus 2,780,000.)

In total viewers, Nightly News beat World News Tonight by 150,000 viewers. For the week of April 18 to 22, in total viewers and the 25-54 demo:

NBC: 8,630,000 / 2.3/10

ABC: 8,480,000 / 2.3/10

CBS:6,110,000 / 1.6/7
