The evening news race ends typically for the week of Sept. 3. “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” was #1, followed by “ABC World News with Diane Sawyer” and the “CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley.” With the broadcasts originating from the DNC, compared to the same week last year, all were down in total viewers. And only Pelley’s Evening News saw an uptick in the younger demo +6,000 viewers/+.4%.
Monday’s shows are excluded from the averages due to the Labor Day holiday. Wednesday’s “Nightly News” and Friday’s “Evening News” are removed from the average due to NFL football and U.S. Open tennis, respectively.
