In a week marked by Hurricane Gustav coverage and the RNC, NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams was the top rated evening newscast in both Total Viewers and the A25-54 demo last week.
All three broadcasts were up from the previous week at the DNC, in both categories. ABC’s World News with Charles Gibson was up the most in Total Viewers and the demo.
It was also the third week in a row World News closed the gap between NBC and ABC in both categories.
Note: NBC and CBS labeled their Monday broadcast as specials because of Labor Day, and weren’t counted in the average. NBC’s Thursday was also not counted because of reduced coverage due to an NFL game.
