Evening News Ratings: Week of November 19 & November Sweeps

“NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” had a big win in the ratings last week, averaging more than 10 million viewers for the Thanksgiving-shortened week. ABC’s and CBS’s weekly averages are based on two days (Mon-Tue), while NBC’s average is based on three days (Mon, Tues & Fri).

Compared to the same week last year NBC was up in both total viewers and younger viewers while ABC and CBS were flat in total viewers and down slightly in A25-54 viewers.

As for the November sweep:

“Nightly News” also wins the month topping “ABC World News with Diane Sawyer” by +800,000 viewers and “CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley” by more than +2.1 million viewers. But only the ABC and CBS broadcasts showed growth in total viewers vs. Nov. ’11. CBS is up +6% in total viewers and up +4% in younger viewers. ABC is up +4% / +3% and NBC is flat / +2%.
